Bring & Buy バザー 2012年11月30日
JAWK インターナショナルのBring & Buyバザーは11月30日に開催されました。130名以上のメンバーとゲストが参加され、会員手作りのアクセサリーやお菓子、寄贈品、協賛企業の品物などでお買い物を楽しまれました。今回のランチはシンプルにハヤシライスとコーヒーでした。デザートの代わりにケーキが100円
で販売され、とても好評でした。当日の純益は100万円以上に達しました。全額チャリティーに使われることになります。皆様のご協力ありがとうございました。
Bring & Buy Bazar
JAWK International Bring & Buy Bazar was held on Nov.30. More than 130 members and guests enjoyed shopping with homemade sweets, handmade accessories, donated items, and goods from our supporters. This year we had a simple lunch and coffee. Cakes were sold for ¥100 to accompany the coffee. We made more than one million yen! All will go to charity. Thank you for your co-operation.
新年度総会の模様 2012年9月28日
2012年9月28日、神戸ポートピアホテルにて新年度総会が行われました。
毎年9月の例会だけはゲストをお招きせず、会員のみの総会と懇親会を兼ねた昼食会としています。
昨年、創立35周年を迎え、時代の流れとともに私達も変わっていこうとしています。
例年通り、新年度役員紹介・新会員紹介・各委員会報告・皆勤賞表彰と続いた後、会則第一条名称に関して、重大な決議がなされました。
現行の「本会の名称は関西日米婦人会（Japan America Women of Kansai）とする。」を「JAWKインターナショナル(JAWK International)とする。」というものです。理由として、2年前に総則を修正した結果、会員資格で国籍を問わないこととなり、名称変更の必要性が生じたこと、しかしながら会の歴史に鑑みて、長年慣れ親しんできた"JAWK"は変更せずに、インターナショナルを付加することで国際性を表現できると考えること、が挙げられました。
約80名の出席会員が少人数グループに分かれて討議を重ね、様々な意見を出し合った後、副会長の議会進行のもとに多数決をもって修正案が可決されました。
当面は、「関西日米婦人会」という日本語表記を併用します。
その後は南里沙さんの美しく、ダイナミックなクロマチックハーモニカの演奏を楽しみ、ビュッフェスタイルの昼食で会員どうしの親睦を深めました。続いてSINGコーラスグループが日ごろの練習成果を披露し、ミニラッフルで大いに盛り上がりました。
The General Meeting at the start of the New Year
On September 28, 2012, the general meeting was held at the Kobe Portopia Hotel. The September luncheon meeting is held annually without guests, and members enjoy catching up with each other and discussing issues that concern JAWK as a group.
Last year we celebrated 35th anniversary of JAWK and we are now heading in a new direction. At the meeting, the new board members, new members, and members who had full attendance the year before were introduced. Then committee reports were given and an important vote was taken regarding the First Article of JAWK Constitution.
The amendment voted on was to change "This association shall be called Japan America Women of Kansai" to "…JAWK International". The reason was to cope with the amendment of the by-laws of two years ago when we decided to disregard the nationality requirement. We hope we can express our emphasis on internationality by adding the word "international" to our familiar name JAWK.
Nearly 80 members discussed and exchanged opinions in small groups, and the amendment was passed by a majority vote of those present. For the time being, we will use both names in Japanese.
At the conclusion of the business meeting, we enjoyed the dynamic performance of chromatic-harmonica by Ms. Risa Minami and enjoyed a buffet lunch. The SING Chorus performance showed us the result of their tireless practice and a gorgeous mini raffle was an exciting finale.
JAWKインターナショナル チャリティ・ラッフル＆ビンゴの会 2012年6月1日
35周年を迎えた本年度のチャリティ・ラッフル＆ビンゴは、去る6月1日神戸ポートピアホテルにて盛大に開催されました。デルタ航空とトルコ航空より航空券、ポートピアホテル宿泊券を始め 関西有名ホテル、企業、レストラン、店舗、個人からの温かいご協力とご支援を頂き、盛会の裡に終える事が出来ました。250名以上の参加者は昼食の後、ビンゴゲーム、ラッフル抽選を賑やかに楽しみました。収益の全ては大学生への奨学金、福祉施設、被災地への支援として有効に使わせて頂きます。
JAWK Charity Raffle & Bingo Event June 1st, 2012
Our 35th anniversary year Charity Raffle & Bingo event was held at the Kobe Portopia Hotel on June 1st. We had flight tickets from Delta Airlines and Turkish Airlines, hotel and restaurant vouchers, and many other generous donations from companies, stores and individuals in the Kansai area. More than 250 people attended and enjoyed bingo games and the drawing of the raffle after a lovely lunch. All profits of the event will go towards our funds for scholarships, donations to local welfare organizations, and the Tohoku area.

35周年記念例会は、神戸ポートピアホテルにて約300名のご参加を頂き盛大に開催されました。
エマーソン カネグスケ名誉会長の就任挨拶の後、パトリック・リネハン在大坂・神戸米国総領事より祝辞を頂きました。ジョン・Ｖ・ルース駐日米国大使からもお祝いのメッセージを頂きましたのでご紹介します。
JAWK 35th Anniversary Event: March 30, 2012
Almost 300 people gathered to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of JAWK, at the Kobe Portopia Hotel. Honorary President, Emerson Kanegusuke gave his acceptance speech, followed by a congratulatory speech by Mr. Patrick Linnehan, the U.S. Consul General of Osaka and Kobe.
We would like to share with you, a letter of congratulations received from the U.S. Ambassador.
関西日米婦人会の皆様へ
35周年をお迎えになった由、皆様にお祝いを申し上げます。
長年の間、我々の外交上の使命と関西日米婦人会(JAWK)の目指すところは、いみじくも一致したものでした。 JAWKは1977年に当時の在大阪・神戸米国総領事夫人により設立されました。以来今日にいたるまで同会は2つの目的を掲げています。一つは文化交流を通して日米間の友好関係を促進すること、もう一つは奨学金の授与と関西地域での福祉活動への資金援助により、地域社会に貢献することです。JAWKは昨今海外での災害復興への援助活動にも携わり、寄付金・奨学金の総額は1億円以上に上っています。
35年が過ぎ、その間に世界情勢は激変しましたが、友情と奉仕というJAWKの二つの使命は変わっておられません。私達は、初代より今日のエマーソン・カネグスケに至るまで、常に総領事の配偶者が貴会の名誉会長として働いてきたことを誇りに思っております。貴会がアメリカと日本の間の友情のために成し遂げられてきた全てのことに対し賞賛の言葉を送ります。そして、関西日米婦人会の素晴らしい仕事に携わっておられる方々の今後のご活躍を祈念いたします。

その後、太皷表現師 時勝矢 一路氏と双子の実弟AUNによる記念公演を楽しみ和楽器のコラボレーションに会場は華やかに盛り上がりました。公演後は名古屋国際婦人クラブ会長から乾杯の音声を頂き、皆様ポートピアホテル心尽くしのお料理を頂きながら会話を楽しみ親交を深め、記念例会は盛会の裡に終える事が出来ました。この模様は神戸新聞3月31日朝刊の記事にも紹介されました。
Taiko(Japanese drum) artist, Ichiro Jishoya and AUN, a twin unit(Jishoya's younger brothers) set a different beat, giving an exciting performance, collaborating various instruments of different fields. President of Nagoya International Women's Club gave the toast, and all attending were more than content with the delicious banquet of Kobe Portopia Hotel, the wonderful company, and ensuing conversation! The event was covered in the March 31 Kobe Newspaper.
