奨学金委員会報告 Scholarship Committee Report
2017年度奨学金受給者が決まりました。厳しい書類選考と面接を経て、関西学院大学総合政策学部、関西学院大学法学部、同志社大学大学院商学研究科の女子学生計3名に総額140万円の奨学金を差し上げることとなりました。この奨学金が、前途有望な若い女性の力になれることを大変嬉しく思います。
We have selected three female students as the recipients of 2017 Scholarship. The sum total of ¥1,400,000 goes to one student from each of the following universities: Kwansei Gakuin University, School of Policy, Kwansei Gakuin University, School of Law and Politics and Graduate School of Commerce, Doshisha University. We are very pleased that our scholarships can support these young women with bright futures.
支援活動報告 Welfare Donation
2017年度は以下の12の団体に総額 151万円の寄付をさせて頂きました。
We supported following 12 organizations based in the Kansai region. ¥1,510,000 was donated in 2017.
1. 神戸市立科学技術高等学校 空飛ぶ車いす研究会
神戸市立科学技術高等学校で2004年から行われているクラブ活動の一つ。古い車いすを分解、整備、再生し、アジアで車いすを必要な人たちに寄贈している。また夏休みには、特養ホームを訪問し、多くの車いすの点検、整備も行っている。現在まで累計1957台の車いすの修理を行った。
Kobe Municipal High School of Science and Technology “Flying Wheelchairs” volunteer group
“Flying Wheelchairs” is one of the school club activities held since 2004 at Kobe Municipal High School of Science and Technology. Its members dismantle, overhaul, and recycle old wheelchairs and donate them to people in need in Asia. Also, they visit nursing homes during their summer vacation to inspect and maintain many wheelchairs. Up to the present, they have repaired 1957 of them.

2. 熊本城災害復旧支援金
2016年に発生した熊本地震支援。地震により莫大な被害を受けた熊本城を復旧、復興させるには長い年月と莫大な費用を要することが見込まれることから、熊本県民の心のよりどころである熊本城のへの支援を行った。
Kumamoto Earthquake Donation for Rebuilding Kumamoto Castle
Support for the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes. Kumamoto Castle was heavily damaged by those earthquakes and it is expected that it will take long time and enormous cost to rebuild. JAWK International supported for reconstruction of Kumamoto Castle to symbolize hope for the people living in the prefecture.
3. 公益財団法人 ひょうご子どもと家庭福祉財団
1968年の創立以来、特別な配慮を必要とする子どもとその家族への支援を中心に活動を行っている民間団体。現在、神戸、西宮、三田に民間で子ども発達支援センターを開設し、療育活動を中心に発達の支援や保護者そして全国の療育に携わる人たちへの研修会などを行っている。財団には、言語聴覚士、理学療法士、作業療法士が在籍、子どもたちの状況に合わせた支援を行っている。
Foundation for Children and Family Service of Hyogo
Foundation for Children and Family Service of Hyogo, a private non-business organization founded in 1968, mainly provides supportive activities for children in need of special care and their families. The foundation launched private child development support centers in Kobe, Nishinomiya, and Sanda to give and conduct “Ryoiku“(medical aid/educational activities for children with special needs). In addition, it holds workshops for parents and people who work in the Ryoiku. The Foundation members include speech therapists, physical therapists, and operational therapists, providing child-focused support.

4. ひらのっ子食堂
神戸実業学院という養護施設が母体となり、運営を行っている子ども食堂。核家族、ひとり親家庭が増加する中、長時間労働や子育ての負担が親を精神的に追い詰め、その結果として子どもの「孤食」が進んでいる。子どもの孤食は、栄養、そして心の成長の2つの側面の問題があるため、ひらのっ子食堂ではボランティアの協力のもと親と子が一緒になって家庭的な団欒の中で栄養のバランスがとれた食事が出来る場所を提供している。
Diner for Children in Hirano Kobe
Diner for Children in Hirano Kobe was founded and is operated by Kobe Jitsugyo Gakuin, a children’s residential facility. With the rise of nuclear families and single-parent ones, many parents are overwhelmed by the intense pressure of working long hours and parenting, resulting in the promotion of Children’s “Koshoku “(eating alone). On the grounds that such a habit could be linked to both nutrition and mental health problems of children, the diner, with the help of volunteer workers, provides a place where parents and children can enjoy a well-balanced meal together in an at-home atmosphere.
5. 特定非営利活動法人 スペシャルオリンピックス日本・兵庫
1994年にスペシャルオリンピックス日本が設立。知的障がいのある人たちに様々なスポーツトレーニングとその成果の発表の場である競技会を年間を通じ提供している国際的なスポーツ組織。JAWKインターナショナルは、西宮支部（西宮プログラム）の活動を支援している。
NPO Special Olympics Nippon, Hyogo
Special Olympics Nippon, founded in 1994, is a global sports organization which provides people with intellectual disabilities with a variety of sports trainings and competitions year-round, giving them opportunities to show the fruits of their efforts. JAWK International supports activities led by its Nishinomiya branch (Nishinomiya Program).

6. マーサを支える会
マーサ・ターケットさんは10歳の頃、母国リベリアで内戦が勃発したため避難したガーナの難民キャンプのそばで暴行を受け、自力での歩行が困難となった。その後、看護師の美木朋子さんと出会いその縁で神戸でリハビリを行い、車椅子で身の回りの事が出来るまで回復。現在、立命館アジア太平洋大学に在学、将来は国連で難民問題、途上国における子どもの境遇改善に尽力したいと願っている。
Martha Support Group
At the age of 10, Ms. Martha Turkett became unable to walk by herself in a violent attack that occurred near a refugee camp in Ghana, to which she had fled to escape the civil war that erupted in her home country of Liberia. Afterward, she met Ms. Tomoko Miki, a nurse, with whose help she participated in a rehabilitation program in Kobe, and recovered well enough to be able to take care of herself in a wheelchair. Now she is studying at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, hoping to work with the United Nations to devote her energy to refugee problems and improvement of circumstances for children in developing countries.
7. 認定NPO法人 日本レスキュー協会
1995年設立。災害救助犬（レスキュードッグ）の育成や派遣を中心に、災害時には国内外を問わず広く世界規模での活動を行っている。また、セラピードッグの育成や派遣、捨て犬や捨て猫の保護などの動物福祉や愛護活動にも力を入れている。
Japan Rescue Association
Japan Rescue Association was founded in 1995. Their main activity is training and dispatching rescue dogs worldwide when disaster strikes. Also, in striving to promote animal welfare and protection, they train and send therapy dogs and shelter abandoned dogs and cats.

8. バルカン室内管弦楽団
2007年に指揮者、栁澤寿男氏が旧ユーゴスラビアの民族共栄を目指し設立した楽団。コソボ紛争でかつて敵対したセルビア人、アルバニア人が集って紛争後初の音楽での交流を行った事をきっかけにスタートした楽団は、現在、旧ユーゴ中南部全ての地域の民族によって構成されている。年に一度「世界市民」というメッセージのもと世界各国でコンサートを開催。JAWKインターナショナルは、2017年オーストリア共和国の首都ウィーンで開かれるコンサートの支援を行う。
Balkan Chamber Orchestra
Balkan Chamber Orchestra was established in 2007 by a conductor Mr. Toshio Yanagisawa, in hopes of inter-ethnic co-prosperity in the former Yugoslavia. Started as the first post-conflict musical interaction between Serbians and Albanians who were previously against each other in Kosovo conflict, the orchestra now consists of ethnic groups in all central and southern regions of the former Yugoslavia. With their message “World Citizens”, concerts are held annually in different countries. JAWK International will be supporting a concert to be held in Vienna, the capital of Republic of Austria, in 2017.
9. 社会福祉法人神戸福祉会 クッキー工房マミー
障がい者の方々によるクッキーの製造販売を行っている施設。「障がい者の人たちと共に歩む」をモットーにいろいろな障がいを持った方々が集い活動している。JAWKインターナショナルは、商品の購入という形での支援を行っている。
Cookie Factory Mommy
Cookie Factory Mommy produces and sells cookies. With their motto to “Walk with people with disabilities”, many with various disabilities gather to work together. JAWK International supports them by purchasing their products.

10. 神戸クロスカルチュラルセンター
1980年設立。地域に住む多様な文化をもった外国人市民と一般市民とが交流をもつことにより、友情と理解を深め、文化の差を超え、平等に尊重し合う平和で豊かな地球市民社会の実現を目指している。
Kobe Cross Cultural Center
Kobe Cross Cultural Center was founded in 1980. By creating opportunities where foreign and native-born residents with different cultures interact one another, it aims to promote friendship and understanding, overcome cultural differences, and realize a peaceful and harmonious global citizens’ society where people equally respect each other.

11. 認定NPO法人 フードバンク関西
2003年、活動開始。企業などから寄贈された食品を福祉施設や団体に無償で分配している。また「食のセーフティネット」として、緊急食糧支援を必要とする一般市民や世帯に行政を通じての食糧の無償分配、貧困母子世帯への宅配による食支援「子ども元気ネットワークひょうご」、そして「子ども食堂」への食支援を行っている。
Food Bank Kansai
Food Bank Kansai started operations in 2003. They distribute free food donated by companies and organizations to facilities and groups that offer social services. Their other activities include “Syokuno Safety Net” (donating free food to public social service agencies to help support citizens and households in urgent need), “Kodomo Genki Network Hyogo” (delivering groceries to single-mother households with low income), and providing food materials to “Kodomo Syokudo” (Diners for Children).

12. NPO法人 女性と子ども支援センターウィメンズネット・こうべ
1992年設立。DV被害者支援団体。女性や子どもに対する人権擁護や福祉の充実を図ることにより、男女が互いに人権を尊重し、責任を分かち合い、その能力を安心して発揮できる社会、男女共同参画社会の形成と子どもの健全育成の推進を目的としている。
Women’s Net Kobe
Women’s Net Kobe, founded in 1992, is a support organization for victims and survivors of domestic violence. By protecting the human rights of, and seeking to improve social services for, women and children, it aims to promote the Formation of Gender Equal Society, where men and women respect one another’s human rights, share responsibilities, and show their abilities to the full, as well as to promote the sound growth of children.
